Real Life Scenario

Your Clinical Laboratory protocol uses a 1:10 dilution for urine urea nitrogent test.
You know that a 1:10 dilution has two parts, the solute and the diluent. The solute assumes 1 part and the diluent
assumes 9 parts, hence a times 10 dilution, having a dilution factor of 10: 1 + 9 = 10. But! Wait a minute! If you only put 10 uL in a 1 mL or 2 ml cup, your analyzer will not analyze it. Why? You answer that!

Better yet, lets use our Dilution Volume Calculator App to save us some thinking time!

Meet Our Prediction Apps

Let our apps answer your most thought-provoking questions.

Predict Your Next Outcome

Ever wanted to know what the next outcome of an activity will be? Well, look no further than our group of prediction apps.

Our prediction apps will give you the answer to your questions. All you have to do is ask a question,
and we will build an app specifically tailored to answer your question.

Discover What it is

Have you ever encountered a situation where you don't exactly know why you are feeling the way you are? Well, our Discover App will tell you why you are feeling the way you are.

All you got to do is tell the App how you are feeling and the app will tell you the reason why you are feeling the way you are feeling.

All you have to do is describe how you are feeling.

Dilution Volume Apps

Have you ever wanted to do a calculation and is puzzled as to how much volume you should have in each part of your dilution? Well, our two dilution volume calculators will take care of that for you.

All you have to do is enter your dilution factor and the Dilution Volume App (version tatty) will provide you with the correct volumes for each part of your dilution.

In fact, the App will even tell you what size cup you will need to use for your dilution.

The Dilution Volume App (version Usma) will allow you to enter your dilution factor, the dilution volume you are working with, and the cup size, then the App will calculate the volumes needed for each parts of your dilution.

Our Skills.

The Applications below illustrate our skills

The first app we will speak about is our Dilution Volume App version Tatty. This software application was developed as a request from a coworker.

The developer of the Dilution Volume App, Glenford S. Robinson told one of his coworkers
that he had just developed a prediction application;
so, the coworker asked him to build an App that would solve a dilution volume problem that has often
plagued Clinical Laboratory personnel when performing dilutions. So, Mr. Robinson took up the challenge
and now we have an amazing App that will help Clinical Lab personnel solve their dilution volume problems.

How Does it Work?

The Dilution Volume Version Tatty simply provides the correct volumes for both solute and diluent (part A and part B) of a dilution after a particular dilution factor is entered by the user.
The App provides volumes based on the dilution factor and the cup size the Clinical Lab Scientist
wishes to use. We standardized each dilution cup size as no lessr than 2.0 mL.
Therefore, the app will calculates volumes to 1.0 mL because 1.0 mL will comfortably fit into a 2.0 mL cup.

We know that 1000 uL = 1.0 mL; therefore, both parts of our dilution must add up to 1000 uL (1.0 mL).
All dilutions starts out with a highly concentrated solute and a diluent (the liquid that we will use to dilute the solute.)
The solute is what gets diluted out to a less concentrated liquid.
We can see here that a dilution has two parts: the solute and the diluent.
The combining of part 1 (solute)
and part 2 (diluent) is what gives the final dilution.

So, for example: you the scientist wishes to perform a times 10 dilution. A times 10 dilution can use a multitude of
volumes combination, but we don't need to do a dilution that will give us a total dilution volume of 1 million mL;
we only need a dilution that will give us a total volume close to 1.0 mL. This 1.0 mL will serves two purposes:
It will provide enough volume for our diagnostic testing analyzer to comfortably test the dilution.
One mL is optimal for the analyzer's probe to comfortably aspirate the solution in order to analyze it.
If the diluted sample's volume is too short), the probe won't aspirate it,
and if the volume is too large, it won't work either because your 2 mL cup won't be able to hold it, and as you can remember, a 2 mL cup is what our analyzer loves to work with.

So, this is where our Dilution Volume Calculator comes into play. It will do the heavy lifting for you by providing you,
the scientist with the correct volumes needed for your dilutions. When you the scientist encounter a highly concentrated sample (serum or plasma), you will decide which dilution factor you want to use,
but you won't know how much volumes you need for both parts of your dilution unless you figure it out in your brain or
or use trial and error, not a good practice. So, the Dilution Volume Calculator App will come to your rescue.
